“Anambra Student Science Startup Reaches Global Competition Finals”

Foris Labs, a gamified virtual science laboratory startup based in Onitsha, Anambra State, has achieved recognition as a finalist in the prestigious 2023 Tech Crunch Disrupt Startup Competition, taking place at the Moscone Centre in San Francisco, United States. The announcement was made by TechCrunch, a leading Technology Media group, which revealed that Foris Labs and other finalists were selected from a pool of approximately 3,000 entries received from around the world.

The event, known as ‘TechCrunch Disrupt’s Startup Battlefield 200,’ is scheduled to occur from September 19 to September 21, 2023, at the Moscone Centre in San Francisco, United States. TechCrunch is renowned for its authority in showcasing groundbreaking startups, and this year’s event will introduce game-changing technologies and engage in discussions on topics of utmost importance to the tech industry’s leading innovators.

“Disrupt Startup Battlefield 200” will bring together entrepreneurs, investors, hackers, and tech enthusiasts for interviews, demonstrations, Startup Battlefield 200, networking, and more, both in-person and virtually.

Foris Labs has developed a technology that simulates a real-life science laboratory environment, allowing students to conduct science experiments either individually or in groups using mobile devices or desktop computers. They are currently in the process of deploying this technology in schools across Anambra State for their Beta testing phase, following successful close user group testing with secondary school students.
