APC Criticizes Atiku, PDP Over Economic Hardship Blame

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for attributing the current economic hardships in Nigeria to President Bola Tinubu. Atiku and the PDP issued statements on Democracy Day, June 12, accusing Tinubu of causing hyperinflation and urged him to review his policies to alleviate the difficulties faced by citizens.

In response, APC National Director Bala Ibrahim, in an interview with Punch, accused Atiku and his party of being dishonest. He argued that Tinubu’s administration shares the democratic values of the late MKO Abiola and is following Abiola’s blueprint to govern the country. Ibrahim contended that the PDP should bear most of the blame for the country’s economic issues.

Ibrahim emphasized that Nigerians are in capable hands and that the reforms initiated by Tinubu’s government will take time to yield positive results. He likened the process to healing a fracture, where initial pain is inevitable but eventual recovery brings widespread approval.
