APC “Sweating” Over Atiku-Obi Meeting

Kola Ologbondiyan, former spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has stirred the political pot, claiming that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is feeling the heat following a recent meeting between his party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and Labour Party’s (LP) Peter Obi.

The meeting, which also included former Senate President Bukola Saraki and Sule Lamido, has sparked speculation about a potential alliance between Atiku and Obi for the 2027 presidential election.

While the APC has brushed off concerns about the meeting, emphasizing President Bola Tinubu’s focus on governance, Ologbondiyan took to his X account to express his amusement at the situation.

“I just can’t stop laughing at the theatrics of these APCites,” Ologbondiyan remarked. “On one hand, they preach governance, but on the other, they’re sweating over Atiku and Peter Obi’s meeting in Abuja.”

He further pointed out the irony of the ruling party engaging in political maneuvers instead of addressing governance issues. “It speaks volumes that the same people who should be raising issues of governance are the ones now politicking just because Atiku and Peter Obi met,” he noted.

Ologbondiyan concluded with a rhetorical question, “Isn’t this a case of the guilty running even when no one pursues?”

As political dynamics continue to evolve, Ologbondiyan’s remarks highlight the underlying tensions and strategies at play between Nigeria’s major political players.
