The All Progressives Congress (APC) won all 27 chairmanships and 312 councillorships in Borno State’s local council elections on Saturday.
Alhaji Lawan Maina, Executive Chairman of the Borno State Independent Electoral Commission (BOSIEC), stated this while declaring the overall election results in Maiduguri on Sunday.
“Following the election on Saturday, we got results today from the 27 LGAs, as authorized by the law under Section 10.

“In my position as the state’s Chief Returning Officer, I read out the following results:
“The ruling party, the APC, gained all 27 local government chairmen in the state.
“Equally, the ruling party has won all 312 council members (councilors) in all wards across the state.”
“With this, we have come to the end of this exercise, and the certificate presentation to the winners will be made at a later date to be announced soon,” Maina said in a statement.
