APC’s Lukman Describes Osinbajo and El-Rufai as Political Orphans

Salihu Lukman, a former national vice chairman (North-West) of the APC, has characterized former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and ex-Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai as marginalized figures within the ruling party. Lukman highlighted a proposed coalition involving these leaders aiming for Nigeria’s top political seat via merger.

In a press release issued in Abuja on Sunday, Lukman asserted that these APC leaders, sidelined by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, must prioritize national improvement over personal ambitions. He criticized Nigerian democracy’s focus on elections and installing new officials, warning against the growing threat of ‘state capture’ at the federal level.

Lukman emphasized the need for a united political front across parties to confront challenges and reverse ‘state capture’. He called for reconciliation among political leaders and urged APC and opposition figures to collaborate in building stronger political parties capable of addressing national issues.
