Peter Obi Urges Nigerians to Learn from Kenyan Protests

Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, has advised Nigerians to draw lessons from recent events in Kenya. Obi highlighted the recent rally in Kenya against proposed tax hikes, emphasizing the importance of citizen engagement in governance.

In a statement via his official channel on Sunday, Obi pointed out that Kenyan citizens mobilized when they felt their leaders were mismanaging resources. He criticized Nigerian political leaders for allegedly using public funds to suppress dissent instead of addressing critical issues.

Obi challenged Nigerian leaders to prioritize public welfare over personal and political interests, urging them to emulate the responsible governance that Kenyan citizens demanded.

“If we as Nigerian leaders make necessary changes and prioritize the people’s welfare over personal and political interests, we can achieve genuine progress and a new Nigeria,” Obi remarked.
