Army Discovers Kaduna Gun Factory, Apprehends Syndicate

The Nigerian Army has announced the discovery of an illegal gun manufacturing factory in Kaduna, Nigeria. This discovery followed a week-long intelligence operation that led to the arrest of a suspected gunrunner named Napoleon John, who had been on the wanted list of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), a joint military task force.

The operation also resulted in the recovery of 22 different weapons, including pistols, locally fabricated AK-47 rifles, military-grade AK-47 rifles, revolvers, a submachine gun, rounds of ammunition, machine tools, a gas cylinder, and other equipment. Additionally, troops conducted a follow-up operation in Adua 1 village in Kafanchan, where they captured more weapons and items related to illegal gun manufacturing.

The statement also mentioned that the major kingpin involved in the illegal gun manufacturing is still at large but efforts are ongoing to apprehend the individual.

Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, the Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), commended the troops for their efforts and resilience. He urged sponsors and perpetrators of criminal activities to abandon their illegal activities and embrace lawful means of livelihood. He also thanked the general public for their support and encouraged them to continue providing actionable information to the security forces.

The Nigerian military has been conducting operations to address security challenges and curb the proliferation of illegal weapons in various parts of the country. This discovery is part of those efforts to enhance security and maintain law and order.
