In Yobe State‘s Damaturu Local Government Area, Boko Haram militants have launched a number of attacks that have tragically claimed lives and destroyed property.
Gunshots resounded throughout the community, which is 17 miles from Damaturu, the state capital, at midnight on Saturday, the day of the attacks.
A mobile policeman and two civilians were slain during the assault, and the attackers also set fire to the district head’s palace in Kukareta, which is located on the Damaturu-Maiduguri Road.
According to eyewitnesses, the attackers—who are thought to be Boko Haram insurgents—came upon homes, plundering food supplies and setting them on fire.
The state security adviser, Major General Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd), acknowledged in a press release that the attack was carried out by suspected Boko Haram terrorists who destroyed two security personnel’s patrol cars and the district head of Kukareta’s palace with fire.
Additionally, a Kukareta election collation center was the target of the event, which claimed the lives of two citizens and one police officer.
In order to preserve peace and security in the region, Abdulsalam pleaded with the locals to keep aiding the security forces.
