Court of Appeal Affirms Ibori-Suenu Erhiatake’s Election Victory

The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos has confirmed the election victory of Ibori-Suenu Erhiatake, who represents the Ethiope East/Ethiope West Federal Constituency in Delta State. Erhiatake, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, is the daughter of the former Governor of Delta State, Mr. James Ibori.

In the election, Erhiatake defeated other candidates, including Ben Igbakpa of the New Nigeria People’s Party, Halims Ahoda of the All Progressives Congress, and Ogboru Etabunor of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.

Justice Festus Ogbuinaya delivered the judgment, affirming the election of the PDP candidate and dismissing the petitions of the appellants.

Erhiatake expressed gratitude for the Court of Appeal’s decision and dedicated her victory to her constituents. She commended the court’s ruling, emphasizing the importance of democracy in Delta State and Nigeria as a whole. This reaffirms her position as the elected representative for her constituency.
