The Deputy President of the Senate, Jibrin Barau, has extended congratulations to Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State and Governor-elect Usman Ododo of Kogi State on their victories in the recently concluded governorship elections. The Independent National Electoral Commission declared both candidates, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), winners of the elections held on Saturday.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Barau expressed that the victories of Uzodimma and Ododo reflect the confidence of the people in the programs and policies of the APC in both states.
Barau anticipates that these victories will empower Governor Uzodimma to build on developmental projects in Imo State, while Governor-elect Ododo will continue the pro-people programs initiated by Governor Yahaya Bello in Kogi State.
He attributed the success to the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the national chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, asserting that their leadership has strengthened the cohesion of the party. The statement highlighted the collective efforts that contributed to the APC’s success in the governorship elections.
