Osun State Statutory Commissions Sworn In After House Confirmation

Chairmen and members of various statutory commissions in Osun State were officially sworn in on Monday, following the successful screening and confirmation by the state House of Assembly. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by the state Deputy Governor, Kola Adewusi.

The commissions inaugurated include the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, Osun State Judicial Service Commission, Osun State Civil Service Commission, and Osun State House of Assembly Service Commission.

The House of Assembly had previously concluded the screening and confirmation processes, forwarding its recommendations to Governor Ademola Adeleke. The emergency House plenary, during which the nominees were confirmed, saw Speaker Mr. Adewale Egbedun emphasizing the importance of seamless operations in the statutory commissions.

Addressing the lawmakers, Speaker Egbedun stated, “To enhance seamless operations in the statutory commissions and since the credentials of the nominees have been screened by the Adhoc committee constituted by the House for that purpose, it is important and urgent for the House to confirm them.” He urged the appointees to justify the trust placed in them by the governor and the people of Osun.

During the inauguration, Deputy Governor Adewusi, representing Governor Adeleke, emphasized the need for dedication and commitment to duty among the appointees. He urged them to act in compliance with due process and existing laws, highlighting the significance of their roles in serving the people of Osun State.
