Former Kogi West senator, Dino Melaye, has once again criticized key figures in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), accusing them of damaging the party. Melaye previously accused PDP National Chairman Iliya Damagum, National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, and Organizing Secretary Umar Bature of destroying the party by allegedly commercializing and privatizing it.
In his latest comments, Melaye lamented that the party’s founding fathers, such as Alex Ekwueme, Solomon Lar, and others, would be deeply disappointed by the current state of the PDP under Damagum’s leadership. He described the party as an “obituary,” expressing his frustration over what he views as the decline of the once-dominant political force.

Taking to social media, Melaye emphasized that the PDP, once a symbol of Nigeria’s 4th Republic, is now in a dire state after 27 years of existence. He expressed concern that the party’s original vision of building a national party has been undermined by the current leadership.
