Precious Mayor, a suspected cybercrime fraudster, and three more suspects, Prince Afam, Isreal Simon, and Emmanuella Mayor, have been detained for allegedly holding hostages at Igbogbo in the Ikorodu area of Lagos state.
According to reports, the victims traveled from Imo State to learn how to commit cyber fraud from Mayor.
They were reportedly locked in a room and subjected to physical abuse the Mayor when they failed to reach their targets after only a few days of training.
The victims were tortured and denied their release, according to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the police public relations officer, who confirmed the occurrence. The state criminal investigation department has taken custody of the detained suspects, he added.
