Gurku First Class Emir Abducted: Swift Bandit Raid Shocks Community

In a startling incident, the First Class Emir of Gurku, Jibrin Mohammed, and his wife were abducted from their palace on Sunday night by a group of armed bandits, sending shockwaves through the community. The abduction occurred around 10pm, catching both the community and authorities off guard.

Reports suggest that the gunmen executed a well-coordinated attack, swiftly overwhelming any security measures in place. Despite a distress call being made to the Nasarawa State Police Command, the assailants managed to escape with the emir and his wife, leaving the community in a state of distress.

Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident, emphasizing the prompt response by law enforcement. He stated, “Around 10pm on August 6, 2023, a distress call was received by the Nasarawa State Police Command regarding the invasion of the Chief of Gurku town’s palace by suspected kidnappers.”

Despite a swift and determined effort by the police, the abducted chief and his wife remain missing, as the bandits vanished into the night. A comprehensive search and rescue operation is underway, with additional personnel from specialized units and the Karu area command being mobilized to aid in the mission.

The Nasarawa State Police assured the public that the safety and well-being of the chief and his wife are their utmost priority as they continue to intensify their efforts to bring about a successful rescue.
