Happening Now : Delta Tribunal Rejects Omo-Agege’s Appeal”

Delta State, Nigeria – In a significant legal development, the Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has dismissed the petition filed by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressives Congress (APC), challenging the election victory of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

The tribunal, presided over by Justice C.H. Ahuchaogu and comprising a three-member panel, made this ruling on Friday. It cited the petition’s lack of merit as the primary reason for its dismissal.

In its judgment, the tribunal upheld the legitimacy of Governor Oborevwori’s victory in the gubernatorial election held on March 18, 2023, affirming him as the duly elected governor of Delta State.

Furthermore, the tribunal concluded that the petitioners, led by Senator Omo-Agege, failed to provide sufficient evidence to substantiate their claims of non-compliance with the Electoral Act and allegations of corrupt practices during the election.

This verdict marks a significant development in the political landscape of Delta State. Stay tuned for additional updates on this story as more details emerge.
