Headless woman found in Uyo banking layout

There is concern in some parts of the Uyo metropolis following the heinous murder of an Akwa Ibom woman by suspected gunmen in the state.

It was said that the woman, whose name has yet to be determined, was beheaded on Sunday night near the banking layout, Udo Udoma Avenue in Uyo, where she had resided and farmed before her death.

According to sources, her lifeless body was discovered the next day (Monday), in a pool of blood, with her severed head resting by her side.

“We were shocked on Monday morning when we arrived at work and discovered the corpse lying close to our entrance,” a source who requested anonymity said on Tuesday.

“The deceased cultivated a piece of land around the banking layout and lived within the farm” according to a second report.

Odiko Macedon, the Public Relations Officer of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, confirmed the development to journalists on Tuesday, saying the command has initiated a manhunt for the woman’s killers.
He stated that the Commissioner of Police, Olatoye Durosinmi, has assured that nothing will be spared to ensure that criminals are brought to justice.

He stated, “Yes, the command has received a report of the incident, and the state Commissioner of Police, Olatoye Durusimmi, has ordered an investigation into the incident.”

“The Commissioner of Police, Olatoye Durosinmi, has vowed that nothing will be spared to apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous crime.”

“We assure Akwa Ibom people that the perpetrators of the dastardly act will be brought to book”
