Rabi Abdul, a 17-year-old Gombe woman, was rescued on Saturday, according to the Gombe State Police Command. She had been abducted and carried to the Zange forest by several herdsmen.
ASP Buhari Abdullahi, the Police Public Relations Officer, briefed the media and stated that one of the suspects was Malam Abba of Ardo Wumnu village via Zange, Dukku Local Government Area.
Abdullahi claims that after Rabi’s husband managed to flee the herders’ ambush, she was captured.
He stated, “On May 19, 2024, a group of hunters and police officers working together in Zange village, Dukku LGA, followed herders thought to be cattle rustlers and found their way to a single house in Zange woodland.
