“IPOB Denounces Sit-at-Home Enforcers as Criminal Elements”

Uplifting Update – August 13, 2023

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has embarked on a campaign to distribute flyers across the South-East, aiming to raise awareness about its decision to halt the sit-at-home order in the region. In a statement released by the group’s Director of Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful, the IPOB underlined its firm stance against the order and distanced itself from those imposing it.

Clearing the Air on Sit-at-Home

The group asserted, “Sit-at-home is not only dead but will never again be invoked or deployed as a tool of disobedience in our quest for self-determination.” The statement emphasized that any individual advocating for the sit-at-home would face appropriate consequences. The flyers and posters being circulated have been authorized by the group’s leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Dispelling Misrepresentation

IPOB also clarified its position on certain individuals who claimed association with the group but were not genuine representatives. Notably, it denounced the self-imposed prime minister of the Biafran government in exile, Simon Ekpa. The group stressed that these elements were not aligned with IPOB’s goals and their activities did not reflect the true spirit of the movement.

Ending the Uncertainty

IPOB firmly communicated its leader’s decree to permanently discontinue the Monday sit-at-home order, offering clarity and direction for the region. The group’s intention is to prevent any form of imposition that deviates from its core objectives.

With this decisive step, IPOB aims to reinforce its commitment to achieving its goals without resorting to actions that disrupt daily life. The flyers serve as a beacon of change, heralding the cessation of the sit-at-home order and focusing on constructive efforts towards self-determination.
