Sheila, the estranged spouse of Isreal Afeare, Davido’s logistics manager, has offered her account of the events leading to the collapse of their marriage in October 2022.
In a series of posts, Sheila refuted allegations that she misled Isreal into marrying her. She also rejected claims that his presence in her life significantly improved her and her parents’ living conditions, asserting that they were already comfortable before their meeting.
According to Sheila, anything Isreal did for her and her family was voluntary, emphasizing that he was not coerced into those actions. She revealed an incident on November 24 when Isreal, accompanied by others, reportedly visited her mother’s shop to retrieve a generator and phone he had purportedly bought for her during their relationship.
She hinted at facing arbitrary lockouts from their marital home, constant threats, and enduring multiple panic attacks. Sheila suggested that Isreal accused her of using contraceptive pills to avoid pregnancy and restricted her activities. She claimed that Isreal avoided accountability for various matters, including the money sprayed at their wedding. Sheila stated her attempts to encourage him to be more productive were met with defensiveness, quoting his phrase, “them no dey control Edo man.”
Sheila debunked claims of issues with Isreal serving Davido, clarifying that she advocated for her husband to establish his independent business alongside his service to Davido. Despite presenting several income-generating ideas, Isreal reportedly displayed no interest. Sheila highlighted that Isreal’s own family supported this concern, considering it a shared priority.
