Juliet Kings Unigwe, the mother of teen actress Angel Unigwe, has taken legal action against veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo, accusing him of making false and defamatory statements regarding an alleged breach of contract. Kanayo had claimed on Instagram that Angel breached a filming contract with his production company when her mother took her home before the contract expired, and urged Nollywood producers to boycott the actress.
In response, Juliet Unigwe denied the allegations in a statement posted on Angel’s Instagram page, asserting that they fully comply with all contractual obligations. She described Kanayo’s accusations as baseless and deeply hurtful, and emphasized that no contract was breached. Juliet also called on security agencies to ensure Angel’s safety amidst the controversy.
The dispute follows Kanayo’s accusations that Angel and her mother have previously breached contracts with other movie producers. Juliet Unigwe has initiated legal proceedings to address the defamation and protect her daughter’s reputation in the industry.
