Senator Orji Uzor-Kalu has urged Nigerians to be fair in their judgment of former Military President Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB), emphasizing that his recent memoir, A Journey in Service, is only part of the story. Kalu believes Babangida deserves credit for openly addressing key historical events, including the annulment of the June 12, 1993 election.
Speaking on Channels TV, Kalu insisted that IBB was under immense pressure and that other military officers played a major role in stopping the handover to Chief MKO Abiola. He called for a second book to reveal the full details, noting that Babangida’s exit from power was turbulent and hinted at deeper forces at play. According to Kalu, a complete account is necessary for Nigerians to understand the true events that shaped the nation’s history.
