Kwara Fire Service Saves Shops and Goods Valued at N68.5 Million from Early Morning Blaze

Ilorin – The Kwara State Fire Service don talk say dem save six shops and goods wey worth N68.5 million from di early morning fire wey happen for Basin Road area, Ilorin, di state capital, on Saturday.

Di fire start around 2:06 am for No. 48 Basin Road, opposite CAC Church, for Ilorin South Local Government Area. E burn one block of eight shops.

According to di Head of Media and Publicity for di fire service, Hassan Adekunle, di cause of di fire na power surge. But e talk say because of di quick response of di firemen, only two shops loss, and dem recover goods worth N4.6 million.

Adekunle talk say, “Di fire crew waka sharply reach di place, and when dem reach, dem see di fire dey destroy eight shops, but dem fit stop am for only two shops. Dem use their skill bring di fire under control by 2:20 am. Investigation show say na power surge cause di fire.”

Di Director of di State Fire Service, Falade John, yarn say make people dey try off electrical appliances when dem no dey use am.
