Tinubu Urges Collaboration for University Funding and Development

President Bola Tinubu don call on stakeholders make dem join hand with government to support universities for di country. E talk say education no suppose dey government hand alone, say everybody must waka togeda make dem fit develop di sector.

Im yarn dis one on Saturday, during im presidential talk for di 32nd Convocation of di Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State. Prof King-David Yawe, wey dey represent am, talk say because university education dey cost plenty money, stakeholders need to waka togeda, especially for di area of research funding.

Tinubu yan say, “We sabi say university education dey cost plenty money. So, for beta funding, everybody get role to play. Government alone no fit do am. I dey call on private sector and international partners make dem waka togeda with our universities and research institutes for di area of research funding and use di results for di unity and development of di country.

“Dis one go also help our graduates for value addition, hands-on training, and less cost for employees’ training. If we fit achieve dis kind of learning environment, e go make students well-focused, and dem go avoid violence and oda bad behavior. Today’s graduates no just dey certified for academics but also for being better people.”

Di President still talk say make all di labour unions for universities join hand with government to bring development, and make dem try maintain peace for campuses. “Dialogue, patience, and positive engagement better pass strike actions,” im talk.

E still congratulate di graduating students, and yarn say di Students Loan Bill wey dem don sign go make poor students fit get loan wey dem go fit pay back when dem don get work. E talk say no student go drop out of school because dem no fit pay school fees under im watch.

Di Vice Chancellor of FUTA, Prof Adenike Oladiji, still yan say make di graduates try dey good ambassadors for di university, and make dem always shine di image of FUTA anywhere dem go.
