A 32-year-old female marketing employee of a bank in Ikorodu, Lagos State, identified as Amarachi Ugochukwu, has tragically taken her own life by drinking an insecticide within the premises of the bank. The incident occurred on Monday.

Ugochukwu reportedly went into the restroom around 1 pm, consumed the insecticide, and was later found dead inside the toilet with the bottle of insecticide and a suicide note. In the note, she attributed her decision to the challenging economic conditions, stating that nothing was working well for her.
Expressing her distress in Lagos, , Ugochukwu apologized to her parents and other family members, stating that she couldn’t bear the pain anymore. The bank manager reported the incident to the police, explaining that Ugochukwu locked herself in the toilet to commit suicide, and her lifeless body was discovered when the door was forced open.
The Lagos police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, and the autopsy is expected to be conducted at Ikorodu General Hospital. The tragic event underscores the mental health challenges that individuals may face, especially in the context of economic hardship.
