Popular American rapper Lil Durk, born Durk Banks, was arrested on Thursday night in Florida on charges related to a murder-for-hire scheme. He is currently held without bail at Broward County Jail and will soon be transferred to U.S. Marshals, as reported by XXL Magazine.
Authorities link the case to the 2022 killing of Saviay’a Robinson, the cousin of rapper Quando Rondo, in Los Angeles. The incident is believed to be connected to gang-related disputes. Prosecutors claim that five other individuals, identified as OTF affiliates, were also arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire.
Reports suggest the plan was a retaliation for the death of Chicago rapper King Von, who was killed in 2020. DJ Akademiks shared Lil Durk’s mugshot on social media, confirming the arrest and revealing that the rapper is awaiting extradition to California to face federal charges.
