Manchester United’s striker, Anthony Martial, is facing an extended period on the sidelines, estimated at approximately 10 weeks, following a successful groin surgery, as officially confirmed by the club.
Anthony, aged 28, has been absent from the squad since the disappointing 3-0 defeat against Bournemouth at home on December 9.

The injury setback will keep Martial out of action until April, coinciding with the conclusion of his current contract with Manchester United, which is set to expire in the summer. The club expressed their well wishes for Martial’s swift recovery in an official statement, stating, “We wish Anthony a speedy recovery and look forward to his return.”
Anthony’s recent absence began with an illness over the Christmas period, which was followed by the identification of the groin injury. As a result, he has been unavailable for selection in the last seven matches across various competitions.
This season has seen Martial struggle for form, finding the net only once in 13 Premier League appearances. Moreover, his playing time was limited in the previous campaign, participating in just 28 out of Manchester United‘s 62 matches, as he was loaned out to Sevilla for the entirety of the 2021-22 season.
