Human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, has stressed the importance of up-and-coming artists and entertainers engaging the services of lawyers to protect their careers and avoid potential irreparable losses.
Effiong made this recommendation in a post on the microblogging platform X, highlighting that anyone involved in entertainment or related businesses who lacks legal representation is taking significant risks.
In his tweet, Effiong stated, “As an upcoming artist, you should have and retain a lawyer as an integral part of your career. If you’re into entertainment or any business for that matter, and you do not have a lawyer, you’re taking a huge risk that may cost you irreparable loss. This advice has saved lives.”
His advice comes in the wake of recent events, including the passing of Nigerian singer Mohbad, emphasizing the need for artists to have legal support to navigate their careers and protect their interests.
