Nigerian Catholic priest, Fada Angelo Chidi Unegbu, has stated that any country with more churches than industries is bound to remain poor, insecure, and ungodly.
Sharing his thoughts on Facebook, Fada Unegbu criticized nations where religious billboards outnumber business advertisements, describing it as a sign of “religious merchandise” rather than true faith. He argued that economic growth, not just religious displays, is essential for national prosperity.
According to him, “A country with more religious billboards than industrial ones cannot be called religious but is engaged in religious commerce. Such a nation will inevitably face poverty, insecurity, and a lack of godliness.”
