In an accident that happened on Thursday in the Ajah neighborhood of Lagos, a woman and her two children narrowly avoided dying.
The mother and the children, who were on their way to school, were rescued by agents of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, who also reported that the driver of the Sienna bus that carried them had survived the collision.
LASTMA’s Odumbo Ekundayo of Zone 14 verified that the accident between a Fiat Pick-up commercial van (SMK 297 GD) and the Sienna bus (LSR 105 HW) happened at Salau Junction after Jakande first gate inside Chisco along the Lekki-Ajah Expressway at around 7:30 a.m.
The first results of the agency’s investigation indicated that speeding caused the driver to lose control, which led to the collision.
“Ekundayo added that the husband of the woman who was contacted rushed all four accident victims to a nearby hospital. According to a statement from LASTMA’s spokesperson, Adebayo Taofiq, the vehicles involved in the collision were given to police officers from Ilasan Police Station by Jakande along the Lekki-Ajah Expressway.
