Renowned elder statesman, Chief Chuks Muoma, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), emphasizes that genuine peace in Nigeria requires the firm commitment of the Bola Tinubu-administration to selfless service in all aspects of the country. He calls for policies that uplift all segments of the nation socially, politically, and economically.
Discussing the plight of Ndigbo in Nigeria, Chief Muoma condemns the unfounded animosity towards the Igbo people and criticizes Asari Dokubo’s attention-seeking attacks on them.
On the new administration’s policies, Chief Muoma hopes for a more dedicated approach to improving the country and addressing insecurity in the South East region. He urges President Tinubu to fulfill the promises made during his campaign, promoting unity and equal opportunities for all citizens.
Regarding the appointment of Rear Admiral Ogalla as Chief of Naval Staff, Chief Muoma sees it as a step in the right direction but expresses the need for more purposeful leadership in the Igbo community.
The leader of the Igbo Lawyers Association (ILA) also supports the call for the release of Nnamdi Kanu to restore peace in the Southeast. He believes that Kanu’s detention is counterproductive and urges President Tinubu to prioritize national integration and peaceful coexistence.
On infrastructure development, Chief Muoma advises the new administrations in Abuja, Ebonyi, and Enugu states to create an enabling environment for investors. He stresses the importance of combating corruption, offering policy incentives, and fostering a conducive atmosphere for economic growth.
Finally, Chief Muoma urges Nigerians to reject divisive rhetoric, such as Asari Dokubo’s, and work towards a united, peaceful nation where ethnic differences are not a source of hatred or conflict.
