The fate of suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan will be decided within 90 days as INEC begins verifying signatures for her recall. Constituents from Kogi Central submitted a petition seeking her removal, citing loss of confidence and misconduct.
For the recall to proceed, more than half of the district’s registered voters must support it. If verified, INEC will organize a referendum, allowing voters to decide her removal. If the signatures fall short, the process will be halted. The senator, suspended on March 6 after a clash with Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has been officially notified of the petition.

INEC’s decision will determine whether Natasha-Uduaghan remains in office or faces a historic recall vote.
