National Housing Programme Allocations Revoked, Review Initiated by Ministry

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has announced the revocation of provisional letters of allocation offered to subscribers of the National Housing Programme. The decision, as disclosed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mahmud Mamman, is part of a review of the conditions and procedures of the sales of houses under the programme.

The revocation affects beneficiaries from the first batch to the 14th batch, and the ministry emphasized that the Provisional Letters of Offer of Allocation made to them are now invalid. The ministry is in the process of revising the conditions and procedures for the sales of the houses and will publicize the updated information when concluded.

The statement further mentioned that the invalidity spans from the first batch issued on December 10, 2021, with a 90-day validity period that elapsed on March 10, 2022, to the 14th batch issued on July 18, 2023, with a validity period that expired on October 18, 2023.

Interested subscribers who are yet to pay for the houses offered to them are given a grace period until Thursday, November 30, 2023, to make their payments. The ministry assures the public that the revised conditions and procedures will be communicated in due course.
