Netizens Demand Arrest of Influencer Who Confessed to Girlfriend’s Killing

Numerous Nigerians have taken to the microblogging platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to demand the arrest of Benjamin Best, an Instagram influencer who goes by the name Killaboi. Best admitted via his Instagram account @Killaboigram_ to stabbing his girlfriend, Augusta Osedion, in July. In a series of posts, Killaboi stated that he had a heated argument with Augusta, stabbed her, and fled his apartment in Lagos out of fear.

“I got into an argument with my girlfriend @austa xxo during which fight I mistakenly stabbed her and ran away out of fear. I’ve been suicidal since then,” he wrote on his Insta Stories. “I intend to end my life now because I have lost the one I cherish so much. I want to do the right thing and turn myself in. I will gladly die by paying with my life now,” he added.

He also made a similar confession on his now-deleted Twitter page, @Vvs_crypt.

Two months after the incident, several Twitter users have called on the Nigerian Police Force to apprehend Killaboi, who has yet to turn himself in as he earlier stated in his confession post. Users have shared his picture and urged law enforcement to take action. They are demanding justice for Augusta and expressing concern about the lack of progress in the case.

The case has highlighted the issue of gender-based violence and the need for effective responses to such incidents in Nigeria. Many are advocating for accountability and justice in this matter.
