On Tuesday, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) confiscated a vehicle carrying around 450 vandalised railway sleepers in Damaturu and detained three individuals.
Mr Adamu Zakari, the NSCDC commandant in Yobe, paraded the truck and the suspects before journalists in Damaturu on Wednesday.
“The truck was loaded with 450 railway sleepers, with an estimated street value of N5.9 million,” he stated.
Zakari stated that the accused will be arraigned once the inquiry was completed.
He asked the public to report any suspicious movement of people or commodities to the nearest security agency.
