A man who claimed to be a prophet drowned and was later torn apart by crocodiles while being baptized.
The victim’s bones were discovered surrounded by crocodiles in the Olifants River in Limpopo, South Africa, on Sunday, according to MailOnline.
The 48-year-old Atok man drowned during a prayer service with two others a few days ago.
When they began to pray, “One prophet suddenly experienced difficulties and drowned in the crocodile-infested river.” Col Malesela Ledwaba, the police spokesperson, described what happened.
“It is suspected that he was attacked by crocodiles during the baptism ceremony,” the colonel said.

Police claimed the man was one of three ‘prophets’ who went to the overflowing river to perform the rite last Sunday.
The other two guys looked for the crocodile victim but were unable to locate the prophet.
In addition, police leaders have warned residents to avoid crocodile-infested waters, whether for swimming or spiritual activities.
The Nile crocodile is South Africa’s only crocodile species, and it lives only in watery settings.
Every year, hundreds of people are killed by reptiles in Africa, with many more likely to go unreported. MailOnline
