Four people have been taken into custody by Edo State Police Command officers for allegedly stealing six batteries worth N12 million from an Airtel Telecommunications tower.
According to the media, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, the command’s public relations officer, revealed this in a statement that was provided to reporters in Benin City on Sunday.

He clarified that while reacting to a distress call from the command’s control room, Okhuaihe Divisional Police officers detained the suspects.
The image maker for the command stated that nothing implicating was found on the accused during the search of their car.
He revealed that the person who reported the incident at the Okhuaihe Division, a Robert Daniel, the distress caller, approached the suspects after claiming to have seen them while taking the six batteries.
According to Nwabuzor, the suspects refuted the accusations and any role in the incident in their responses.
