One of the suspected killers of the late Bako Angbashim, a Superintendent of Police in Rivers State and a former Divisional Police Officer at Ahoada Division, has been apprehended, according to the Bayelsa State Police Command.
This was stated in a statement that CSP Asinim Butswat, the command’s police public relations officer, signed.
It named the suspect as TuBaba’s second in charge within the Icelandic cult, Onyekachi Okowa.
According to the command, on the basis of reliable information, Ikowa was apprehended on Saturday at a hiding place in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State.
It further stated that the Rivers State Police Command had received the suspect.
“One of the killers of Late SP Bako Angbashim, former Divisional Police Officer of Ahoada Division, Rivers State, has been apprehended by police operatives in Bayelsa State,” the statement stated.
The feared Icelander cult group’s second in command, 43-year-old Onyekachi Ikowa “m,” was apprehended on November 18, 2023, on the basis of reliable information that he was hibernating in Yenagoa following his brutal murder of Late SP Bako Angbashim in September 2023.
“CP Francis Iduh, the Commissioner of Police for the Bayelsa State Command, has tasked law enforcement officers to locate any of his associates who may be hiding in the state. He emphasized that the Bayelsa Command, which is under his supervision, will not serve as a sanctuary for lawbreakers.”
“The Rivers Police Command has received the suspect for additional investigation.”
