Police launch investigation into officer’s drowned son in Ogun

A police officer’s 32-year-old son is reported to have drowned in the Ogun River, and the Ogun State Police Command has started looking for his body.

It was reported that on June 12, 2024, at around 2:00 p.m., the victim, Francis Danjuma, of the Isheri Olofin community, left his home to take a bath in the river.

The event was reported by his father, Deputy Superintendent of Police Danjuma Shaibu, who resides in the Alausa Police Barracks in Lagos State, according to a police statement that reporters were able to get.

Police officers at the Ojodu-Abiodun had started an investigation to determine the circumstances behind the occurrence and had collected the body, according to state command spokeswoman Omolola Odutola, who spoke with reporters about the incident on Thursday.

“Detectives from the Ojodu-Abiodun division visited the scene after receiving the tragic news and coordinated with local divers and the Olofin Council to search for the body,” the statement reads.

The search for the body is still ongoing. We are also investigating the circumstances that led to this regrettable event.
