“Political Fireworks: Ondo APC and PDP Spar Over Defections”

The political landscape of Ondo State is ablaze as its two main contenders, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), lock horns in a fiery exchange of words.

Ade Adetimehin, the voice of the APC, boldly proclaimed that the opposition party, PDP, had met its end in the state. He asserted that the PDP had suffered a mass exodus of its top members to the APC, leaving it on the brink of extinction. Adetimehin underscored the unity within the APC, praising Governor Akeredolu’s leadership for nurturing harmony within the party’s ranks. He confidently stated, “The PDP has gone into extinction in Ondo.”

However, the PDP wasn’t about to bow down silently. Responding with fervor, Kennedy Peretei, the state’s PDP Publicity Secretary, unleashed a barrage of verbal blows. He dismissed Adetimehin’s claims as laughable and accused the APC of being responsible for the suffering and hardships faced by the people over the past eight years. Peretei didn’t mince words, asserting that the regret of those who had cast their votes for the APC in the last election was palpable.

In an intriguing twist, Peretei suggested that the APC was celebrating the defection of individuals who had little impact on the political scene in recent times. He criticized the credibility of Adetimehin’s assertion that the PDP was extinct, likening it to a “self-destruct misadventure” within the sinking ship of the APC.

Undeterred, the PDP remained steadfast, with Peretei boldly claiming, “PDP cannot be extinct, there are no such signs. And it will never be.”

As the rhetoric escalates, Ondo State watches as these two political giants clash in a battle of words. The future remains uncertain, but one thing is clear – the political arena is far from dormant, and the echoes of these exchanges reverberate across the state.
