“Political Showdown: Absent Governor Fuels Tensions in PDP Stakeholders Meeting”

The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, was conspicuously absent from a recent stakeholders meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held in Abuja. The meeting, which included PDP flag bearer Atiku Abubakar and other party leaders, discussed matters concerning the party.

Sources within the party claim that Fubara’s absence could be attributed to his loyalty to his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who is believed to have unresolved issues with the PDP. Wike allegedly warned Fubara against participating in PDP meetings and funding party activities as he did during his time as governor.

The meeting’s communique highlighted the party’s commitment to discipline and zero tolerance for anti-party activities. It also expressed support for Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyi Okowa, the PDP presidential and vice-presidential candidates, in their pursuit of the tribunal to challenge the election results.

The PDP criticized President Bola Tinubu for appointing a large number of ministerial nominees and urged the federal government to reduce the cost of governance.

The meeting also addressed the recent military coup in Niger, advising the Nigerian government to resort to dialogue and diplomacy rather than engaging in any form of war with Niger Republic.

Notable attendees at the meeting included Atiku Abubakar, Ifeanyi Okowa, and several PDP governors, among others. However, Governor Fubara’s absence raised eyebrows, indicating possible internal political tensions.
