Response from Whitemoney’s Team Regarding Vote-Selling Allegations

The team representing Big Brother Naija star Whitemoney has emphatically denied allegations of selling his votes and disclaimed responsibility for his eviction from the show.

Their statement, which was posted on Whitemoney’s official Instagram page, clarified that the reality star’s comments had been misinterpreted and taken out of context. They attributed some malicious activities, such as the hacking of his Instagram account and sabotage by individuals he had entrusted with certain responsibilities, to the reasons behind his statements. Importantly, they stressed that they did not engage in the sale of his votes.

The statement read, in part, “Our attention has been drawn to Whitemoney’s interview with Hero Daniels currently circulating across social media. In the interview, Whitemoney expressed his hurt over some unfortunate incidences which included the hacking of his account twice and sabotage by a few sly persons he entrusted with tasks. Please, this is to notify the public that his statement was totally taken out of context”

Whitemoney’s interview gained significant attention as he asserted that he was evicted from the show due to betrayal by members of his own team. During a post-eviction interview with media personality Hero Daniels, he elaborated on internal and external challenges he faced while in the All-Star House. He mentioned the hacking of his Instagram page, the sale of his votes by his team, and internal betrayals.

Further probed by the interviewer, Whitemoney affirmed that he had indeed experienced betrayal from members of his team and expressed his lack of surprise at being evicted. He even speculated that the show’s winner would likely be a woman. He stated, “Yes, my votes got sold by my own team. Internally, I was betrayed. I didn’t go on the show to win and I knew I was not going to win. And I know that the winner is going to be a woman. I already had that message from the beginning of the show. But I know I was prepared to get to a very large extent, which I did; for eight weeks. But the fact that when I came out I saw that people manipulate… Not the show organisers o, my own team betrayed me, was so hurtful.”

Whitemoney’s eviction occurred alongside those of Neo, Alex, and houseguest Omashola on Sunday, September 17, 2023.
