“Soludo Promises New Capital City in Awka”

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has announced plans to demolish numerous properties in Awka, the state capital, with the aim of transforming it into the capital city of the people’s dreams. The governor envisions a revamped and modernized Awka that will serve as a source of pride for all residents.

Governor Soludo made these remarks during a monthly event called the ‘Solution walk for healthy living’ held in Awka. He emphasized his commitment to using the resources generated by the state government to facilitate sustainable human capital development for the benefit of the people.

While the governor did not disclose specifics regarding compensation for property owners affected by the demolitions, he expressed his passion for building sustainable human capital development. His vision includes demolishing parts of Awka to pave the way for improvements and infrastructural developments.

In his words, Governor Soludo stated, “We will demolish Awka and build a befitting capital for those living in Awka. We will also build a flyover across the highway in Awka. Awka will be the real capital, and by next year, when Anambra State will be 33 years old, the governor of the state, for the first time, will live in Awka, in the government house.”

The governor also stressed his administration’s commitment to positively impacting the lives of the state’s youth and its residents. He encouraged young people to work diligently to secure a decent livelihood and highlighted the significance of the One-Youth-Two-Skills program initiated by the state government.

Furthermore, Governor Soludo reiterated his administration’s strong focus on industrialization and welcomed more investors to set up businesses in Anambra. He emphasized the government’s support for industries that aim to produce goods for local consumption and export, showcasing the state’s commitment to economic growth and development.
