The Ogun State Police Command announced on Saturday that it had found three unidentified bodies of young men in an abandoned structure at Abibatun Toronbi Community, Ijoko-Ota in the state’s Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area. The dead are thought to have been killed by a rival cult group.
This comes just a month after a carnage in Sagamu during which at least eight people died as a result of competing cult executions.
These young men were allegedly murdered with a machete, and their left hands were also severed by the attackers.
Memory and Rilwan have been identified as two of the reportedly deceased Eiye Confraternity members.
A community leader from Abibatun Toronbi in Ijoko reportedly told the police about the discovery of the bodies in an unfinished building that also served as one of the area’s criminal hideouts, according to a statement from the state command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola.
