According to the 1 Division Nigerian Army, its soldiers have freed six abducted victims and killed 1 bandit in Kaduna State.
The victims were rescued on Friday, according to a statement released on Saturday in Kaduna by Lt.-Col. Musa Yahaya, acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 1 Division Nigerian Army.
Yahaya said that the division’s troops’ continuous clearance operation was continuing to produce fruitful outcomes.
“The troop acted on credible and timely intelligence on the kidnapping of six people at Hayin Tsando general area of Maraban Jos, in Igabi Local Government Area of the state,” he claimed.
“The courageous soldiers promptly deployed and started a search and rescue effort. When the troops came into contact with the bandits and criminals, a fierce firefight broke out.
“During the operation, troops successfully freed six kidnapped victims, seized two AK-47 rifles, and killed one bandit, while others managed to flee with gunshot wounds of varying severity.”Maj.-Gen. Valentine Okoro, who is also the Force Commander for Operation Whirl Findwhosabi and the General Officer Commanding 1 Division of the Nigerian Army, has praised the soldiers for their fortitude.
They were further admonished by Yahaya to maintain their relentless pace until all criminal elements in the division’s “Area of Responsibility” have been fully eliminated.
Additionally, he urged all paramedics to keep an eye out for anyone who had been shot and to report them to the Nigerian Army and other sister security organizations so that appropriate action could be taken.
