President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, on his 60th birthday, acknowledging his remarkable leadership in Nigeria’s energy sector. Tinubu lauded Kyari’s efforts in transforming NNPCL into a profitable enterprise, highlighting achievements like reviving two refineries and boosting oil production.
Kyari, reflecting on his journey from being an Almajiri school pupil to leading Africa’s largest energy company, expressed gratitude for the opportunities Nigeria has afforded him. He also appreciated the support of Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Tinubu in advancing his career milestones.
In a statement by Tinubu’s adviser, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Kyari as a role model for the “Renewed Hope Agenda,” commending his dedication and professionalism. Tinubu also prayed for Kyari’s continued success and strength to mentor future leaders in the energy sector.
