President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accompanied by federal lawmakers, recited the former national anthem at the National Assembly on Wednesday. This followed the swift passage and signing into law of the National Anthem Bill by the National Assembly last week.
Tinubu’s notable appearance in the House of Representatives’ green chamber occurred at 12:31 pm, where he addressed lawmakers and outlined plans for an upcoming 2024 Supplementary Bill. The session was attended by key figures, including APC National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, and former Deputy Speaker Patricia Etteh.
In his address, President Tinubu emphasized the need for Nigerians to focus on building a prosperous and stable nation for future generations. The new national anthem was sung at 12:48 pm, marking the official adoption of the newly legislated anthem.
