Tinubu Ready to Fire Underperforming Ministers, Says Presidency

President Bola Tinubu is prepared to dismiss any ministers who fail to meet the targets set for them, according to Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. In an exclusive interview with Findwhosabi , Onanuga revealed that while the President has yet to decide on the ministers’ performances, he expects them to deliver on his administration’s eight-point agenda. Those who fall short will be asked to leave the cabinet.

Onanuga rated the administration’s performance at 70 percent as it nears its first anniversary. He highlighted the government’s efforts to rescue Nigeria from economic collapse by implementing bold policies, such as the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of the exchange rate. Despite inheriting a struggling economy, Onanuga emphasized that the administration has made significant progress in stabilizing the country’s finances.

Meanwhile, the opposition and public analysts have criticized Tinubu’s administration. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) described the President’s first year as an “abysmal failure,” and the Labour Party (LP) accused the government of worsening poverty and hopelessness. Public affairs analysts also expressed disappointment, citing poor economic management and unmet expectations.
