“Tinubu’s 2023 Victory is Unshakable, Affirms APC Chieftain Jaji”

Mallam Ahmed Moyosore (Moyo) Jaji, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Executive Secretary of Ojodu Local Council Development Area, expressed his views on the recent 2023 elections and other national issues in a candid interview. While acknowledging that no election is flawless, he dismissed the European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) report on the election. According to Jaji, the victory of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is secure, and any flaws should not overshadow the well-being of society.

Regarding the real-time upload of election results on the INEC viewing portal (IRev), Jaji suggested that INEC outsmarted politicians, and there were attempts to manipulate the system. He emphasized that the Election Petition Tribunal will decide the matter, but he firmly believes that Tinubu’s presidency is inevitable.

When questioned about the EU EOM report, Jaji argued that no election is perfect, citing the case of the United States’ election between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. He also mentioned cultural practices in other countries and highlighted that the APC’s loss in Lagos was due to internal factors and not religious or tribal issues.

Jaji emphasized the importance of including the grassroots in the democratic process, pointing out that the APC in Lagos neglected the party’s foundation, leading to the defeat. He emphasized the need to give the grassroots a sense of belonging beyond election periods.

Regarding the removal of fuel subsidies and the imposition of proof of ownership tax, Jaji acknowledged the initial hardships but defended the government’s decisions, highlighting the need to eliminate wasteful subsidies and invest the saved funds back into the economy. However, he expressed concerns about the proof of ownership tax and questioned its necessity. Jaji also criticized the increase in electricity tariff, suggesting the establishment of a Consumer Protection Agency.

On the proposed increase in salaries and allowances for political office holders, Jaji expressed his hope that President Tinubu would not assent to such a proposal. He criticized the benefits enjoyed by members of the National Assembly, which were inserted into the constitution during the military era.

When asked about Tinubu’s focus areas, Jaji stated that Buhari did not fail, but rather, those around him failed him. He highlighted the need for effective implementation of anti-corruption efforts and addressing technicalities in prosecuting cases. Regarding security, Jaji mentioned Tinubu’s successful handling of security issues during his tenure as governor of Lagos State.

Finally, Jaji emphasized the importance of unity and peace among Nigerians, dismissing the idea of Nigeria’s disintegration and stating that the country must remain together for the benefit of all.
