The Social Democratic Party (SDP) is gaining momentum as top politicians, including senators and ministers, are leaving their parties to join its ranks. SDP National Chairman, Shehu Gabam, revealed this on Monday, March 24, 2025, during an interview on Channels Television.
Gabam stated that the party recently welcomed former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, and continues to attract high-profile politicians nationwide. He expressed confidence that the SDP could defeat the ruling APC in the 2027 elections, arguing that the current government is not addressing the concerns of Nigerians.
According to him, the APC’s strategy and leadership are not enough to secure another victory. He insisted that leadership talent exists beyond the ruling party and that SDP is prepared to challenge for power in the next election.
