U.S. President Donald Trump has raised alarms over what he calls large-scale fraud in foreign aid distributed under previous administrations. Speaking at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday, Trump criticized the allocation of hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars to projects in countries across Africa, Asia, and Europe, including South Africa, India, and Moldova.
Trump’s remarks coincided with the signing of three new presidential memoranda aimed at boosting government accountability and fiscal transparency. These directives call for “radical transparency about wasteful spending,” “ensuring accountability for all agencies,” and expanding access to in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments.
Since returning to office, Trump has issued a wave of executive actions focused on tightening financial oversight, with these latest measures continuing his push for strict fiscal management.
